I occasionally play harp and one number that sometimes comes up is Muddy Waters ‘I’m Ready’ which needs a C harp ( in 3rd position) or a (c) Chromatic. My Chromatic is not too good so need to upgrade.
I could do with a cheap one in very good nick ( new cheap ones start around £30) or a used really good one ( new these go fo £100-200+)
Anyone got a low mileage one they want to get rid of?
I usually have a few spare (used ,but working) Lee Oscars happy to exchange 3 or 4 ( or more ) for the right Chromatic
Lee Oscars clean up really well. They are plastic, brass and stainless steel so can be taken apart and washed ( not something that you can do so easily with a Chromatic but I have my methods!) Come to think of it I do have a couple of new Lee Oscar reed plates I could throw in and , with one of the old harps, you could make a new one. Pete

Thanks to Marshcat, I am now the proud owner of a Koch ‘Chromatic ‘. This model is tuned like a diatonic, but has the slider to change the note to one semitone up. An interesting and unusual addition to my harp collection.
I am still searching for a ‘standard ‘ 10 hole Chromatic .
Someone out there will have one covered in dust they don’t want.......still have a few (used but working, and easy to clean) Lee Oscars as a swop or cash or all sorts of stuff ( odd machine heads , pickups , pick guards, strings, after 50 years repairing guitars I have a lot of spare stuff!) Pete

Thanks to Pete, I now have a number of fine Lee Oscar harps. And Pete, if you are interested, I also have a Hohner Chromatic in G...

I think the only song I want it for is in D , which a C ‘standard ‘ Chromatic has the classic Blues sound. The G would play in A ( and A#) so could well be a good addition to my suddenly expanding harp collection. Will PM you Pete
