Hi there ! I gave up thinking I'd every manage to play squareneck guitars, lap-style, but someone might be interested in this Exploding Palm Tree Tricone, with wooden square neck that just appeared on Reverb, having supposedly just emerged from an attic in a house in India ! (maybe it's been doing the rounds for years, maybe not ?) Here is the link though, if anyone might be interested (I only just spotted it on Reverb - I have no affiliation with it) : reverb.com/uk/item/63958718-1937-national-exploding-palm-tree-tri-cone-resonator?bk=

Interesting.
The fact the neck has not been carved up is good, I am happy with my old 2-35 but you never know when the lottery balls roll your way. Interesting is I had a 32 L-OO the black and white one that had also gone to a dealer in Calcutta I imagine it as being a major hub for music back in the day, not sure if Michaels Mitra boys can confirm the connection???
Marshcat now has the 32 L-OO too delicate for my playing.

Lee, I'd quite like the square neck you mention:
to pair with my (converted) round neck:
but I just can't contemplate the £6k asking price!

While it is a rare and interesting model, I'm sure that with the lack of demand for square neck Nationals, unless one or two serious American collectors get interested, that the price will eventually drop.
