I have started tuning to F# instead of open G as it suits my singing voice better but I’m noticing my Blues 36 doesn’t like it. The strings are older than methuselah to be fair but I tune it, then go back to the bass string and it and the 5th are way out again, usually low. No big deal at all, just curious about it. Newtone MM mediums. Going to restring tonight as I have a show Wednesday night but wondering if anyone has any thoughts? Occam’s razor would suggest it’s the strings but not encountered this before.

I like open F# and open C# instead of open D. I'm not an expert, but I when I switch tuning on my resonator guitars I also have to tune the same string twice, I think it's because the cone is moving (when you tune down one string, other strings will go a little high). I usually tune it just a little bit lower and then I slowly tune up every string, and then once again for a final adjustment.
