Hello Michael
I had an introduction to your music through "Lucky Charms" tonight...it was a fascinating adventure in so many ways...to say I was blown away by the whole experience would be understating how much I enjoyed listening to your art...it was like feasting my eyes on images brought to life in a magical tapestry of sounds..
What can I say…great stuff
Regards
Anthony

Thank you Anthony - I am blown away by your words. Comments about my work written by genuine music fans who I know understand what they are listening to, means much more to me than reading a great review by a journalist in a glossy magazine.
Lucky Charms & Second Mind were recorded three years apart. But to me and everyone involved in the creative process the two albums sit together as a pair. Lucky Charms is a continuation of Second Mind. So I recommend you listen to Second Mind and complete the picture. I am not trying to be a salesman - I genuinely would love you to hear that album.
Once again - thanks for posting your message.
Shine On, Michael.

Hello Michael
I bought the two albums together…when I got home from work last night I sat down slipped “Lucky Charms” on the stereo and didn’t get up not even to make a cuppa I was so captivated by it…have yet to hear “Second Mind” on my stereo though I played “Hummingbird in my Soul” to my lady in St Louis or “Across the Continental shelf” (great line btw)late last night… had it playing on my laptop which doesn’t give the best reproduction but hey I wanted to her hear it:) Love the booker T influenced “tail feather blues” also.
I think overall I’ll be reaching for “Lucky Charms” more often than not because of how initially being knocked out by the whole experience of hearing it.
Waiting for “King Guitar” btw
Regards
Anthony

Michael,
I am considering putting Newtone electric strings on my old Les Paul in order to play electric slide. I have bought a set from LRC ( 15 to 56 )This guitar has never been strung with anything higher than 10's. Some have said I could be asking for trouble by putting heavy strings on. Whats' your advice?
The guitar is a 1980 Heritage Les Paul.
Regards,
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Good timing - only 20 minutes since you left your message.
No problem with the 15 to 56 Electric Slide Classics on your Les Paul. Just keep it tuned to open G & D, rather than up to A & E (otherwise your guitar might require A & E! ...only joking). I have used 15 to 56 gauge Newtone strings on numerous electric guitars over the past 15 years and I haven't bent one yet. My Dave King Telecaster has been strung with 15 to 56 Newtones since it was built 7 years ago and the neck is still absolutely dead straight.
Your guitar is 26 years old, so the neck is well seasoned and should be fine. And on the negative side; if the neck does pull a bit, it is not a serious job for a good repairer to tweak it straight again. Enjoy your guitar & don't worry!
Shine On, Michael.

I love this Man's music and am a brand new listener! It's smart, creative, fresh, has a top quality engineering and production value (which I like), and is very listenable. KIng Guitar also has no less than 17 tracks! I kind of like that too. Wonderful work Michael. You indeed write, perform, and produce great music The Ebner family whole heartily gives Mr. Messer's music all 5 stars!!! We are brand new consumers of your music and fans of your work. Keep on shining!!! We are spreading the word here in Austin Texas. See you on the strings, Eric Ebner & family If I was to suggest anything it would be to add a "track list" below each album on your site. Example: I don't have the copies with me here and can't remember the titles off hand to comment on individual tracks. I think Lucky Charms has a review with track titles but I didn't see the others. Just a suggestion for the website.
