I have a Dean heritage. I love the tone but the neck is too narrow for fingerstyle properly. Wondering how tricky / expensive it would be to get a better neck? I have no clue whatsoever about anything technical so asking the hive mind here. I know it wouldn’t be cost effective given the value of the guitar but I am not (as my magnificent old hippy pal says) a bread head and I just dig the tone.

Having a professional make a new neck is very possible but VERY expensive. Finding a second hand neck with the correct scale length is unlikely.
If you are set on the idea you may be lucky and find a good amateur maker who will take on the project, if the old neck comes off easily it could go back on ( is it a standard resonator?) if the new one doesn’t work out for you.
The old neck could be sold to someone doing a new build, so some of the cost could be got back that way

People still pay silly money for korean guitars. I think you could sell it for £500 and get a better one for that price. TT

Some guitars come with a narrower string spacing than some maker would use. On several of my guitars I have increased string spacing ( I like the top string close to the edge of the board for my style of slide playing) This may not work ( especially if you use very light strings) but could give a little more space Pete

Other than the nut width it’s a great guitar. Not over chuffed with the headstock but that’s just superficial.

I have no idea what a Dean Heritage is. But I have dozens of old guitars in my loft with necks of all sorts of scale lengths , fingerboard widths, neck to body joins and neck shapes/profiles. I’m not a luthier but I’ve been fixing up beaters for years and giving them away. If you can work out exactly what you want and post it here I’ll scramble through them and see if anything matches. Often you find with cheaper stuff that they are made from a very similar- sometimes identical pattern to a different guitar. I’ve done several frankensteins over the years. The neck joint is usually the decider as to what can be done. You can have it for free but my guess is that unless you can do the work yourself it still won’t be cheaper than a new or used guitar to your liking. Mrs T

There are so many variables in making a new neck, you would have to get the guitar in the hands of the person making the new neck for it to turn out well. It would not be hard for me to make one if I had the guitar on site, in fact it would be easy since it's just copying the one you have but wider. Are you UK or US? I've been hanging out on "TheLoothGroup" patreon a bunch lately, I can throw it out to the builders there and see if anyone is interested. I think Mrstrellis is spot on when he mentions the neck joint being the deciding factor. It would be hard (nearly impossible) to find an existing neck that would join your body correctly and have all the correct angles and facets to just bolt on and play.
