Some help please. What would be good string gauges to use on my 22 inch scale tele electric tenor reso? I'd like to use phosphor bronze as I have different MM sets knocking about. I'd like to slide of course. Also any tuning recommendations would be welcome. I've put a pic in to give you an idea. Thanks and best wishes to you all, John

So , perhaps the best tuning has some notes or a pattern you are familiar with. For me ,as a mainly open G player, I would go for D G B D ( the top 4 strings of open G) or D G D G ( the bottom 4) this last tuning is probably the one I would choose. I would then choose a string gauge a gauge thicker than my normal strings. This should give approximately a similar feel to other guitars. Or I would use my ‘normal’ gauge and tune the instrument a tone sharp, so to E A E A . A 22” scale is about 2 frets shorter than standard, Pete
