I've been to‧ing and fro‧ing about selling my 2 MM resonators for the past week or so. I don't really want to, but am due to have an operation shortly, so won't be able to play them for ages after. I don't want them around to tempt me, as I'll probably give in and injure myself. I decided to list them on Gumtree around 1 am today, Friday. By 2 am, I'd had 6 emails, 3 from a person calling her/himself "Mrs" saying the guitar and price were perfect and they wanted to pick them up today. Another 3 emails from a person called "Lyanne" saying almost word-for-word the same things. They didn't mention which guitar they wanted or ask any questions. Very suspicious. So I've removed them from sale. The last time I tried to sell on Gumtree, a potential buyer said I wasn't asking enough, and insisted on paying £200 more and he would arrange a courier as he was working away. Yeah. So, beware on Gumtree. There are lots of scammers. I've decided to leave the guitars with my brother until I've recovered, so won't be over-tempted.

Thanks for the heads up. Best of luck with the operation - you'll soon be playing them again if you folloew the rules! PD

Anything over a certain price gets this treatment on Gumtree. If they had a brain they'd be dangerous but they are fairly easy to spot, just be wary. That said I've made many sales on Gumtree with real honest people too.

Facebook marketplace works for me and am on old Ebayer if you want to spread your wings to a wider area.
Or use this forum which also has a market place which has also been successful for many musical bits and bobs from instruments to parts.
Price is key though, price it too high and you will lose impact.
