bought new, so now about 32 years old. couple months after buying, a friend imported a cone and spider from america, which improved the tone and sustain immensely. its a heavy well constructed, and stucturaly sound guitar.
the coverplate is steel, the saddle is maple, the nut plastic, some minor fret wear, the strings are 15 to 56 pb newtones, its only ever been played in open d tuning. its fitted with a transducer pickup, which is totally useless. the original cone screw is included, american thread. setup for bottleneck, not too highe, so slide and fingers. for non slide the action could go down. its a fairly substantial neck and dead straight. some pickleing on the chrome coverplate. with my 12 fret mm blues 28, and a 12 fret parlour, the hohner never gets played. it would make a nice entry level slide guitar for a family member.
one problem, i dont want all the hassle of packaging and postage. so collection or arrange collection. not on ebay, or plumtree, too much aggravation, i like a quiet life. £100 quid, with inflation that probably are what a set of strings are going to cost soon. might have to start making bootleg whisky, it probably be cheaper than petrol. dont worry, we are all doomed eventualy. bet thats cheered you all up..
