Hi All
I've got some wood I had no real idea what do do with, I went to see Charlie Parr last night then it hit me!, resolectric, does anyone have a spare cone, cover plate and maybe biscuit? (I can make one of those so not essential), but I'm not sure where to go for a cone and cover plate, cover plate doesn't have to be perfect, scratches etc. don't matter, anyone have a reso parts pile?
I should also add I'm skint so I'm not needing the top end expensive whatevers right now, this one will just be for me
Cheers

Hi Alex,
I don't have a coverplate but I have a spare, used Continental cone - it's dusty BUT completely unharmed (no dents, squashed etc). I replaced it for a NRP Hot Rod cone for a bandmate of mine but it actually sounded v good. Pay the postage, you can have the cone for free !
It still has the biscuit on it.
Maybe we can discuss scratchplates again !

I hope you've found one, but please let me know if you've found two. I'm seraching for a coverplate Too. I need a slick one, without ribs.
In fact I already got one on wich I had cut the famous large diamond openings, fitted with my own homemade straight old fashioned handrest. All this work done to an atempt to give homage to the first single cone Triolian...but very disapointed when discovering that this coverplate doesn't have the right shape. This stupid thing is too rounded in the opening area, and too high in the middle, so my tailpiece stay too high to give a good string angle on the saddle. This coverplate was given by a friend so I don't know where it came from, but the original hand rest does'nt look like the old National. Visualy easy to recognize because the feets of the hand rest are somewhat larger, and it was soldered by for points clearly visible, (made by electric soldering plyers, way more rapid than by the traditional way). Take care if you see those big feets; that can't work without an insane break angle and a very high saddle...perhaps made for sale, but not for use.
The only correct one that I can find had disapeared from E-bay last week......
(The last choice is to fit a stud tailpiece to give more angle, I've got one in the bin, but I prefer to keep that pretty old thing until a nice guitar will come to fit under).
