Very appealing, apart from the price tag! That's been on eBay for a while I think.

I have played a few of these and they are interesting instruments, but they don't really cut it quite like a real quality five string banjo, something like a Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone, or Mastertone RB250 is a great instrument. Price-wise, it is actually not overpriced at all.
One of these days I might have to succumb to the desire....

Been there, done that one. Now I would like a really good Gibson Mastertone type of instrument.

I found it quite ironic ,resonator guitars partly being invented to compete with banjos for volume!

I would say that depends on who is playing them.

I mean the prospect of trying to learn to play that style to any kind of decent standard makes me head hurt. It's so fast and technical. They're so good ๐๐๐คฏ Can you play Scruggs style, Michael? Fair play if so ๐๐๐

Lew, you are right, there are some amazing players around.
At one point I did get really into banjo and Scruggs style, but my obsession lay elsewhere and I never pursued it. It really got me in the early eighties when I spent time in Nashville. I was able to meet and play with some of the greats who are no longer around. It was an amazing time and I learnt so much.

I'll have to make do with my Aria Mastertone 5 string. It remains my desert island instrument even though I'm leagues away from proficiency!
