I just hope that whoever wins it does not attempt to repaint or "refurbish" it - only make it playable if that's necessary.

Me neither, it went for more than I was prepared to risk. Serial No. 79W would I think make it a '29 (don't have Señoritas... To hand) but there's been activity around it, a quick Google search shows it appearing in 2 auction houses and guitar village UK. Both the auction houses said it needed a neck reset and that's probably true, it's understrung in all web photos. The ad said that the frets had been filed down which worried me.
I wish the new owner well and hope it gets (slightly) restored into a working instrument.
Cheers

Hi there !
Well done !
3-piece steel body - these ones seem to have a high reputation sound-wise, but also a reputation for the paint flaking off. I can't abide spending big bucks on a cosmetically scarred guitar like that. I've got one heavily worn (paint-finish) Polychrome Triolian but that's enough for me.
I must be slipping - I didn't notice the under-strung tailpiece - but then again, I switched off after knowing the flaking paint finish would put me off.
Neck reset, re-fret (or possibly new fretboard) - by someone like Steve Evans will have that guitar like a cannon again ! Congratulations !!
