A very sweet and rather gentle film ( don’t expect any car chases) about a Scots lad who goes to the States to see relations and meets some Zydeco players.
Lots of shots ( photographic ones) of those long straight Southern highways ( very nostalgic if you have ever driven down them, or been driven, thanks Ken)
On iPlayer for the next few days.
BBC sounds did have a reading of the book, Down the Dirt Road (?) some time ago will check if it’s still there.

Hi there !
I spent a night in Lafeyette, at a blues jam (Bob's Bar), back in October 1996. The dental students I was staying with for a month, were going to a concert (the rock band, Kiss) - and dropped me off on my lonesome at the blues jam, and picked me up again at the end of the night. Played some guitar & sang, then switched to piano, to back everyone else. Was getting free Budweisers and Drambuie all night. Was a right mess the next morning, back at the LSU Dental School, in New Orleans !!
