Hi all, sorry if this has been discussed before but I'd really like to know how the volume of each model compares.
For context, I play in a dixieland jazz band. Therefore, I want to be as LOUD as possible but I also would quite like that archtop-type thunky chunk that i'm not sure a metal-body reso will deliver (maybe im wrong?).
So basically, are the wooden models (particuarly the '36 14 fret I have my eye on) significantly quieter than the metal models? What is the loudest model?
Thanks!

Hi Adam,
Welcome to our forum.
They're all pretty darn loud, generally around 4 to 5 times louder than a standard acoustic guitar. I would say that the most powerful with the most projection, which is what you are looking for, would be a 14 fret steel bodied MM Blues. This model sounds great in standard tuning as a rhythm guitar and I think would cut through more than a 14 fret wood bodied MM Blues '36, which is also a very powerful guitar, but with a warmer tone. The 36 is lighter weight than the steel bodied guitar, and that might also be an important factor if tyou are standing up playing for long periods.
These instruments were invented for exactly what you are looking for, to amplify guitars before the invention of electric amplification.
I hope that is helpful.

A reply with all the information you asked for, on the same day, from the owner of the company! What more can I say! All of us MM owners are used to this!
