I posted pics of this build some time ago. The body , cone and cover plate are from the Tut Taylor/ Crafters of Tennessee factory close out with an old Airline /Harmony neck. Pick ups are an old MIJ gold foil and a 2 .5 x .5 inch piezo film clamped on top of the biscuit.

Looked like great fun to make. Was it a conscious decision to play it as a 12 bar ( ok with a few extras thrown in) rather than a 13 1/2 bar ? It is often played at jams I go to ( or did before covid) as a 12 but explaining where the extra 3 half bars go when everyone else just wants to play can be tedious.
Keep an eye on the workshop thread about Highlander style pickups, hopefully more news soon Pete

Hi Pete, thanks for checking in. I just took the arrangement from Johnny Winter's version , not very traditional but suited the project which is essentially a blues rock duo with a twist. Here's an earlier release, has a little bit of spider reso content .
Here's a few pics of the guitar in progress. The body is such a high quality job that it was just a matter of adding the neck which was kindly gifted by a member of the Reranch Guitar refinishing forum.

Like the Parchman Farm video, though I like the Mose Allison ‘ ain’t never done no man no harm ‘ and ‘all I did was kill my wife’ lines. But bringing it up to date and removing the misogyny is a good idea. Pete

Thanks Pete. John the singer isn't big on memorizing the right lyrics ! The inspiration was the version by US band Cactus , also I like John Mayall's rendition.
BTW it might be of interest that my Les Paul is a "rescue " put together from rejected parts I scavenged from the Gibson repair department dumpster, best electric I've ever owned !

Pete,
agreed, COMPLETELY. but where should we stop?
Hey Joe--Jimi Hendrix Down By The River-Neil Young Hats Off To (Roy) Harper--Led Zeppelin Love 'Cause You Need It--Steve Miller
fairly clear cut cases there. who is totally unbiased enough to decide which border line cases are allowed?
Under My Thumb--Rolling Stones
for extra points, does Zapa's "Brown Shoes Don't Make It" point out bad behavior or promote it?
deleting bad history doesn't change it. may even remove warning signs of bad behavior for future generations. if we can't change the past, then all we can change is the future. we can only change the future by changing ourselves.

No problem ! It wasn't the main factory, no one would even get close to the dumpsters there ! ( I've heard that these days most of the rejects are band sawn and sent to the Jack Daniels furnaces.)
This was the much smaller and now defunct Dobro factory which Gibson used as their repair department near downtown (now also closed). It was in an un-gated yard and I used to visit early on Saturday mornings so never had any contact with staff . I scored some metal bodies and other reso parts when they closed the Dobro operation . It was addictive and I do miss it !

Thanks ,just replied.
The Les Paul is the main electric on the Kilo track, the reso intro etc., is actually a spider metal body from dumpster parts, it was easier to use the electric for the video shoot.
