That was a very busy period of my life. I played at numerous festivals and often did CD signings and workshops after the show. Remembering which one was which has nothing to do with age, just that there were a lot and that festival, as I mentioned in a previous post, had me concerned with other issues.
I started a thread about it on Facebook with the same poster and it has created a lot of attention and discussion. The Bishopstock 2001 festival will always be followed by the craziness of what happened. You only have to Google it to know the other side of the story.

This was the last festival I went to as well. My clearest memory is of you, Michael, playing Robert Johnson's Wake, mid afternoon on the main stage, and buying King Guitar from you shortly afterwards. Shocking how much I have forgotten, though - I enjoyed Ana Popovic, and also Sue Foley. Courtney Pine was a blast too, although my friends took exception to him pushing the boat out. I can still see Johnny Winter in my minds eye, apologising for not being able to perform.

We enjoyed our show and if my memory is correct, we sold a lot of CDs. That is where I also met Sue and Ana. I didn't realise that until I spent some time with Ana at a festival in 2019 and she reminded me that we had met before. Ana is a lovely person. Sue is a good friend of my brother, Alan. He has shot a few of her album covers. Courtney Pine's band were great, but they could have kept the noise down backstage during our set. Festivals are like that, even on a great big stage. C'est la vie. It was 20 years ago! I just found the souvenir programme. I keep everything. I'm not sure why, but I do. Shine On Michael Attachments:

Michael - good attachments. I tend to keep everything too, and on the rare occasions when I throw something away, I always regret it. As far as having a good memory goes, I remember more about the first half of each day at that festival than I do the second. Can't think why. Saying things like-if you can remember it you werent really there - seem a bit hollow now. I can't remember seeing Van Morrsion at all, which is shocking. The only other time I have seen him was when he guested at the last performance of The Pretty Things a few years ago, when he gave an incredible interpretation of "Baby Please Don't Go" amongst others.
