Lovely!
I have known this piece of music for most of my life, since Taj Mahal recorded it way back. Your version I'm guessing is coming from John Fahey via Steve James and Del Ray and you are playing it well. I know it's easier said than done, but try and make your solid timing turn into a swing feel for dancing to, probably by just relaxing into it. Tom Paley does a great version of it, as does Sam McGee.
More please!

I was curious about how to do the tune (sorta) with a slide in an open tuning. Obviously I had been listening to Steve James a lot and tried to incorporate his banjo roll move π³ It's been a while but I'll give it another go and definitely try to loosen up my thumb a bit. I'll also try to work out part 3 for slide!! I learnt the standard tuning version from listening to Sam McGee, then a Stefan Grossman DVD and then a Steve James tutorial book/CD - all picked in standard tuning. I hadn't heard the Taj Mahal version but it's bleeding' awesome. Thanks for the heads up ππΊπ» All the best Lewis
