Hi Michael, I came over to Stamford last night, from Northampton, to see your gig, (and Johnny Dickinson's), and I just wanted to say how glad I was that I came, it was absolutely brilliant. I have been with you from the Diving Duck album, which I wish I had taken with me now for you to sign, and I felt for you and the band that so many people left before the end of your set. I guess they were not really your audience. I just wanted you to know that there was somebody there who was totally absorbed by the whole set. Thank you for all the happy hours your music has given me. Regards William

Hi William,
Thank you. Your words are very much appreciated. You should have brought Diving Duck & come and said hello. Next time.
A lot of the audience left because the show was running late and because a lot of them were there to hear acoustic guitar players. That's cool! I had a great time & felt that the audience who stayed also had a great time.
There has been quite a change in my albums since those early days of Diving Duck. We are currently in the midle of recording a new album. We did a few of the new songs last night at the show.
Keep in touch, Shine On, Michael.

Hi Michael, thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes your music has changed over the years, but it has always been quite eclectic, incorporating lots of different influences, which is one of the reasons I guess that it is always so interesting. The only other band I can think of that appears to be going down a similar road at the moment is nublues. There is a shop on Lavender Hill, Clapham Junction, called CD World, I think, and I like to go down into their cellar and rummage through the deletions they have there, and when I went down last month they had quite a few copies of your Hummingbird single for 10p...I went mad and bought five copies to give to friends...ha ha...absolutely brilliant little sampler to introduce others to your music, even if it is fifteen years old, good music remains good music. Keep on truckin' as the blind boy used to say... ;D

Humminbird CDs for 10 pence - that's great! They are pretty rare; as far as I know, no more than 500 were manufactured. They have turned up in all kinds of places all over the world. Back when it was first released it was a regular on Radio 2.
Keep on truckin' n' Shine On, Michael

Hi William,
That's great! £1.49....amazing. The reason is because these are the last batch of Second Mind that were manufactured by Catfish Records. Second Mind is being re-issued in April by Cooking Vinyl and probably won't appear in the cheap bins again. I hope not anyway - that is much less than the dealer/wholesale price. It is almost a givaway.
Shine On, Michael.

;D Hi, yes it is on Catfish, and it certainly made my day. Having been made redundant at the beginning or the year, money is tight, and I can only justify buying myself records if they are a bargain like that.
I was a member of the Cooking Vinyl club for years, paying my £10, but I am a lapsed member now. When they first started I felt they had a really strong catalogue, but then the roster started to move away from what I liked, and I stopped buying so much, and one year didn't renew my membership. But it would appear they are again building up an artist base which I feel an affinity with, so who knows maybe when I get eventually back to work, I will join again.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for all the enjoyment your music has given me over the years.
