Hi there ! I was searching the internet for pictures / discussions about this cool looking guitar. On one guitar forum discussion, there was a wee comment from one guy who sold his Kay to Louisiana Red. Thought MM might be interested to see it. Is this the one you helped source for Louisiana Red ? If so, this one has a black scratchplate - which doesn't look original to the guitar. Did you manage to get a vintage replacement - or maybe use the one from Red's broken guitar ?? Here is the thread : www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/ngd-kay-k-136-content.962528/I love these guitars. I have the Kay 2 pickup version in metallic copper, and the Silvertone single pickup version (with slightly narrower bouts)

I remember Red's Kay guitar, it was nice one, but I didn't source it for him. The one I got for Red was the Muddy Waters Telecaster. Oh he also had an MM Blues that I gave him and most days he would try and prise the blue fiddle edge Dobro out of me!

Hi Michael !
Ah, my memory for different guitars is getting mixed up, obviously !! The Kay 136 that I have seen Louisiana Red play in later years (on YouTube videos) had the vintage correct cream scratchplate - whereas the one this guy that sold a Kay to Red, has a black scratchplate. Maybe the videos are of Red's original Kay before it got broken by an airline, or maybe the videos show his replacement but he put the broken guitar's scratchplate on the replacement guitar ?
