Interesting guitars, they are lightly built and have their own tone. I have worked on a couple of the far eastern ones, both needed the bridge working on. ( it bends under heavy strings) but so far that was the problem which is an easy fix. Pete

Well spotted and agreed, the bridge maybe the weak(est) link. I think a Tele half bridge would sort that out, on a reissue at least
There’s an original, not crazy priced, on Reverb but the guy isn’t to expansive on his description of condition

I think a Tele half bridge would sort that out, on a reissue at least I sorted my bridge by fitting an aluminium plate cut to size under said bridge to support it - solved the problem and retained the guitars aesthetics in one go. I think it sounds better, too....

This could be turned in or out, if the action needed adjustment . One other minor thing, when new they often have a stripe of contrasting colour around the body. This is basically sticky tape, and often falls off

I had a dusky pink reissue a while ago and read that some have a truss rod which finishes around the fourth fret causing problems with relief around this point. Mine had this to an extent
Anyone know anything about this - can't find any info so running on memory
Cheers

There's a 56 U2 at the same sale Lot 142 and an Estralita Lot 83
Check the previous sales - I don't think they do bargains but they often do rarities.
Cheers
