The clearout continues - Peavey amp, Chesini bike, Sharp VHS recorder (err...) all gone
I've put this on eBay and am happy to answer any questions/receive comments and/or info
The experiments mentioned were tunings.
Best tip ever from Steel Guitar Forum was to master one of well known ones and then, if necessary, try another. A6/C6 (easy retune) does many things.
Anybody fancy a go at lap? Great fun.
Cheers

I am guessing that under the scratch plate there is a hole for a horse-shoe pickup? Any photos of the body without the more recent additions? Pete

I can't find any photos, might take a look but it means dismantling the whole thing. There are several cavities of various shapes and sizes under the plate and an oblong one under where where the current pickup lives.
A search for 'rickenbacker bakelite body lap steel' produces some images.
Checked Gruhn and these were string through body (mine isn't this) until 1946 and then had a tailpiece
I remember the person I got it from had bought it complete to source a bakelite neck for another instrument - the necks are apparently unsuited to being dropped headstock first
Hope this helps
Cheers

Just added more photos on eBay after taking the thing apart. Should have done this originally although I've now realised what a good job somebody has done making the neck
1946 and onwards body unless anybody has another idea?
Cheers
