Long gone, but what a great artist. Copied by many, but Freddie was an original.

I was a big fan of Freddy, I even bought a Cherry Red 345. However, due to lack of talent and application I rarely came close to his playing. Pete
Still have the guitar. Yes, he changed to a 355 around 1970 but I thought the extra binding, trem etc were a little over the top
Only saw him twice, once at a tiny club in Bournemouth in 1970(69?) I think he was backed by Killing Floor, and again at the 100 club with Chicken Shack (or was it Ronny Scott’s?) in 72?

Indeed, Freddie was musical giant and he electrified every room he played in.
This is a good one.... BBC TV's Old Grey Whistle Test in 1973.
Same cut, but sounds better on this one, but no video.
I saw him in 1976 in the baking sun with Eric Clapton and Ronnie Wood at the Crystal Palace Garden Party. I was twenty years old and couldn't get enough of them.

I saw him at Crystal Palace too. I was ignorant in those days - I went to see Eric. I didn’t know who Freddie King was. I was blown away by Freddie. And Jess Roden, I remember. I was 18.
