That's excellent. I wonder how many people cringed today to see those "collectors items" innocently carved up in 1965. Oh, and he just happens to have a Mauser in the corner. Luv it - keep 'em coming, folks.

That takes me back, the first pickup I made was from the coils of a telephone handset. Our art department had an old cello (for still life drawing) . I put 2 strings on it and played the bass part as my friend played Spoonful on guitar. The strings were old anorak cords, and I had to weave 2 steel wires into the cords so the vibrations were picked up. It would fit well with the above film clip Pete
Eventually I extended the neck to bass guitar scale , put m/heads on it and sold it as an acoustic bass, I think it sounded better than most ‘acoustic ‘ bass guitars I’ve played.
