Hello Michael, This sounds fab but I don't see your name on the list. Will you be performing with Michael (Roach)? Incidentally, I love the name of the location of the festival. Vaguely reminiscent of Much-Minding-in-the-Marsh (now I really am showing my age All the best, Joe (aka Mairena Red)

Hi Joe, Good to hear from you. That was 'Much Binding In The Marsh' - The show was on the radio from 1944 to 1954, so I just missed it by a couple of years. I am a fan of Kenneth Horne & Richard Murdoch, and somewhere....I have some episodes of Much Binding on cassette. I will not be at this year's festival, but I am booked to play at the 2009 Rock'n'Roots festival. I look forward to seeing you there! Shine On Michael

Much Marcle, associated sadly with Fred (cellars a speciality) West, but much more happily with H. Weston, makers of fine and eminently potable ciders and perries. ;D ;D ;D

Just curious - who constitutes "The Animals" these days? (I assume Burdon, but who else?)

Hello Michael, Apologies for the typo, must have been a long day at the office. I too am a bit young to remember "Much Binding" first time around, but must have heard the repeats because I can still remember the song. I too am a big fan of Kenneth Horne as I grew up listening to "Beyond our Ken" and "Round the Horne" on the wireless (as it was known in those days ). I still have fond memories of Rambling Syd Rumpo singing "Green grows the grunge on my lady's posset" ;D. Incidentally, "Beyond our Ken" can currently be heard on Wednesdays on BBC 7. All the best, Joe (aka Mairena Red)
