Any opinions? At least it does not look overpriced...
With thanks, Michael

Having a quick look at the pictures it is similar to a mahogany special I had a few years back, with the additional inlays, ebony & pearl headstock with engravings on the coverplate, it was a very nice guitar, now I think of it why did I let that one go???

This is not from a great period in Dobro's history, but at that price or a lower offer, it is a really good buy and it looks like a very nice guitar.

There are some hidden Gems in that era of Dobro, there was someone at the factory making real quality one offs amongst the F60,s and other non descript stuff, the Mahogany special became the Jerry Douglas signature model more or less(+ squareneck) I have had some great ones from that era. The Zephyr I had was exceptional although like everything else it got traded sold for the next great thing (see the pattern). Washboard Chris recently had an exceptional Walnut Dobro from that era pass through his hands, it now is in North London coveted by Phil Alexander (he knows his guitars). Guess you can tell I like this era of Dobro, but you have to find the good custom ones.

Thank you, I'll probably have a go. Here's some interesting information I found about the 1993 Gibson takeover: www.resohangout.com/archive/24192 - from what I understand 1993 may not have been the best period, but not the worst either ;-)
