I'm not sure there is much out there on vinyl at this point - I couldn't find anything except on ebay used and this is a link to a place that lists lps of his: www.musicstack.com/records-cds/big+joe+williamsAlso if you go to Amazon and research him in digital music, where you can sample songs on the album - I was looking at Blues On Highway 49, which I want - I noticed they also list if there's an available cd or vinyl. The LP for Blues On Highway 49 is $125.00 USD. Lawd Lawdy Harriet

My first hearing of BJW was of his later recordings, which I enjoyed . I then came across some 1930s recordings which I had downloaded with a load of other stuff. My device was on ‘shuffle’ and I didn’t know it was BJW, at first I thought it was Robert Johnson playing the mandolin, some of his early stuff has a lot of power. I am not sure which recordings are best, but his original works should be looked at. Pete

Thanks guys... Harriet have a look at Discocgs ..the title you rwfeenced is way cheaper second hand. Say thanks jono1uk, that seems to be a good source and cheaper for vinyl for sure, especially the EU selections - sorry I overlooked! He was recorded in different ways over his career - in an ensemble setting, with Sonny Boy Williamson, solo to mention a few - I'm sorry I can't answer which are the definitive and/or preferred by collectors from any period though. Here's his page at Stefan Wirz' site, there quite alot of recordings listed as ithe list includes those on compilations! www.wirz.de/music/willbigj.htmLawd lawdy, Harriet
