[File under: Shameless Self Promotion!]
Thanks to my top pals Gerry and Ani McNeice, I now have a couple of vids on YouTube. The Url below will (should?!) take you to a solo effort and from there you can link to me duetting with the American singer-songwriter Chris Anderson on a song called Cocaine Lil. No slide, I'm afraid, but that will be next...
Cheerily,
Gerry C

I enjoyed those clips Gerry.
I remember a friend of mine used to play that song Cocaine Lil years ago and I'd not heard it again since - I could only remember the first two lines. Do you know where the song comes from? who wrote it?

Thanks Gareth,
I remember me and my friend Martin used to listen to Solid Air by John Martyn when we were in our teens so it's probable that that's where he got the song from. It seemed like fun then to be singing songs with drugs references then, but now, seeing too many lives ruined, it doesn't seem funny anymore. Still a great song though, I might consider putting it in my set.

hi Bill in reference to Cocain Lil, i find it a dark song, which for me targets the down fall of any serious drug abuse especialy within the final lyrics.
'Yonder's baby, she's dressed in white I said, Hey now mama, gonna stay all night Cocain's sure running round my brain Now there runs my baby, she's all dressed in black You said, You know I didn't mean it, won't you please come back? Cocain's sure running round my brain.
Hey baby, please come quick This old cocain's making me sick Cocain sure running round my brain.'
this reads to me as the sad demise of any serious addict. I do a version of this combined with Angie (Davy Graham) starting with Angie, and then carrying on the decending base line with octaves to accompany the cocain lyrics, i find this quite apt after the demise of Davy Graham, into a serious drug addict
also loved the 'Solid Air'
Gareth P.S loved the clips by the way Gerry
