I worked with the author of this, Tony Bacon, on his "Ultimate Guitar Book" which was his first major publication and contains quite a few of my guitars from the time. I think it was in or around 1990.

This one is of a Japanese Tokai converted by family for my 60th. Birthday present. First one done with sanded neck and Gibson Vibrola as per Erics first gigging set up. Only problem was they forgot the pick up rings.

Best I can do with my cheap phone, I'm afraid. I was asked to spec. the guitar and it is based on a Tokai SG90 made in Japan. It was hand painted using, as I understand it, with Humbrol model paints just like the original was and it has obviously got brush marks and a '3D' feel to it just like the original, too. (None of that photograph /inkjet printed / sprayed stuff here). It sounds superb and plays really well. My attempt at "I'm So Glad" through a 100W ELGEN and 4x12 sounds scary! Oh, and it has the mix of nylon and steel saddles just like wot EC had, too.

A little hard to see, but the SG also had a painted fret board in rainbow colors...great concert, eh?
