Poynton's the place to be for the blues! I'd love to see Catfish Keith as well.

I am looking at the dates trying to see where I can catch Alvin, he is someone on my list of must see...
Initially I thought I had missed him then realised the Americans still put the dates the wrong way round to try and stop us invading and taking the colonies back following the war of independence....
The closest gig is on the 8th but I have a clash and am already committed to Jonas & Jane who are playing within walking distance of my house.
Maybe Hemel Hempstead, we will see.
Thanks for the heads up Lee

I am pleased to hear that everyone enjoyed the show. I met Alvin for a moment when he first visited these shores, which must have been 20+ years ago. As a young Californian African-American blues artist drawing on his African roots, he was attractive to the hip media of the time. He's a great artist.
The Fraulini Stella-style 12 strings are absolutely superb, as are all of the Fraulini guitars I have seen and played. I know a few people with them, forum member Phil Thorne has a Fraulini 12 string.
Shine On Michael.

Yeah, have to agree with jono - a fab gig. Lovely venue too. Hailing from Pompey, as I do, it was amazing to experience an old seaside pier in such beautiful condition (ours has never been the same since it guest starred as a bonfire in the film Tommy, back in the 70s). Back to the point, I’ve seen AYH twice now, several years apart and he was brilliant both times. Highly recommended!
