Lee, the Cadogan Hall is a small venue so it shouldn't be a problem meeting up.
I have a guest ticket and I am not sure if that puts me in the auditorium or backstage, but I am sure it won't be hard to find each other.
I can't believe that Ry's last London concert was in 2009. Phew....where does the time go, it feels like it was two years ago!

Funnily enough we were both at the last gig with Nick Lowe, this will be my 3rd outing as originally I saw Ry with Little Village, which was one of my top 10 gigs at the Hammersmith Odeon (worst being Johnny Winter!!!).
I have been to Cadogan Hall before and saw Patty Griffin there, it is mostly Americana that gets me motivated music wise these days.
See you soon Lee

Lee, I remember that you were at the Lyceum for Ry's last London show. Hopefully see you on Thursday.

Would you guys please stop harping on about this gig, please? This ol' git is insanely jealous, hacked off that he can't make it there. Anyway - have a great time and if you find any spare guitars laying around, I can give 'em a good home for free.

I'm sure it will be a great night, I saw him at the Carre Theatre in Amsterdam a few nights ago and he was fantastic. Did quite a few from the new album and some oldies like Little Sister, How can a poor man stand such times etc, oh and Vigilante man which I was really hoping he would do. Enjoy!

I would have loved to have seen him, but I did not appreciate the ticket sales timeline (I misread the date/time posted hereon) and although the option of Hamster Jam was there, the ticket price of well north of 200 squid stuck in the craw.
As it turns out, I shall be going to Tedeschi Trucks on both the Friday and Saturday night shows at the London Palladium next April, and at around one fifth of the Cooder ticket asking price for what I know will be awesome gigs, I can only say "enjoy yourselves and send Ryland my best". Y'all move in different worlds than I do.
Short shrift? Not too sure? mayhaps, but my Cooder library ought to signify credentials enough? The asking price of a ticket amounted to one week's "income" for me. Don't take this the wrong way- it's impossible not to love Ry's music and I'm certain by extension the man himself, but hey- I'm no charity case but cut me some slack woncha?
File under "useless ramblings" and ENJOY YOURSELVES. Because in my opinion you certainly will. ;<D

When the show was first announced there were some ridiculous figures being brandished around, but the Cadogan Hall ticket price was not unreasonable for a London show of an artist of Cooder's stature. I have to say that because my brother is the promoter! Shine On Michael

I'll take that on the chin MM.
When I licked the wound of missing out on the Cadogan event, I rallied my defences and investigated Amsterdam. It was well over £200 for the experience. I had no idea that the UK gig was so much more "affordable" and that rotates the knife as well as plunging it in. Fair play and kudos to your sibling then?
So who exactly is coining it in the Low Country then?

I'd pay £55 just to shake Ry's hand alone. I paid £60 to shake Alan Bean's hand and it was worth every red cent!
