Hello folks new guy on the block,I recently traded a National 03 tricone for a tele I no longer use, The tricone was totally flat dead but as the trade was in my favour I went ahead I tried a new set of ej42s ...No better so i took the plate off and jeez there was enough pet hair and fluff in there to make another with so cleaned it out and noticed the saddle/bridge had been butchered Oh dear says I so I began to look around for a local repair guy had no luck so sent an email to National asking if I could purchase a new saddle[ sent info serial model etc ] I got a reply the next day from a lady named Hannah as follows...Quote Hello the saddle sizes were changed that year but what I will do is send you 2 ,one old size 1 new size free first class Unquote, I was bowled away honestly. So I got the 2 of them and it was obvious which was the correct one although a tad wide 3.3mm and the tee bar slot was 2.75 so shaved the saddle down to 2.8 put the tee bar in boiling water for ten mins supported the under pins and the new saddle with firm hand pressure went in with a firm sound something like a firm Carrump ,Lovely cut the slots from a template I had made and now singing like a lark on a summers day...Hats off to National..ps sorry to friends in the USA but we use mms here.

Well done, it seems that most people in the resonator world are very friendly. Most (maybe all) on this forum are a happy to give free advice and encouragement. Feedback from National Resophoic is usually positive. Many of us use mms, and some MMs! Pete T

Tokyo, I am a bit late, but welcome to our forum.
I am pleased to hear that you were treated well in your search for a new saddle.

Those are M'n'Ms Pete. MMS is multi media format of images for cellular telephone distribution? It's true to say that many of us use MMS (except for your scribe who is too mean to stump up 59p to send an image that could go free as an eMail attachment.) Don't let's mention that FacePage spin off "What'sApp"...
