Is it possible that the black paint has been applied to reduce some over tones? TT

if only the factories that make resonators were that concerned, the reality would be yeh we can do black,

A large proportion of (most) far Eastern guitars goes on presentation. What it looks like in the shop window is the most important factor. So I would guess an executive in the company noticed a dull spider/T bridge and told the producer to ‘smarten them up’. If it had been done to ‘reduce overtones’ it would be in their publicity hand out .
“Now with the New Improved Bridge , Our special coating not only gives a sharp new look , your guitar will Sound Better! “ etc etc.......

Come to think of it, I did once paint a spider on a guitar I made, it was a VERY thin spray of dark brown and did not seem to change the tone

Hi everyone. Many thanks for the replies. I eventually got around to cutting a new bridge and stripping the black paint off the T bar. It is now sounding like a bell . Very impressed.
