Was brilliant ... he played a black wooden M1 tricone with a white headstock .and built in pickup. sounded really good . He used in standard and various open tuning's the tricone sounded soooo sweet...

Only one guitar ~ Doug now tours with the black wood-bodied tricone (called 'Moon') - I think he has a phobia about travelling with more than one instrument!
Slide On!

I have known of Doug Macleod for many years, but not as a solo acoustic blues performer. Doug was a bass player, a songwriter and a columnist for Blues Revue. His most famous song is "Songbird" that the late Eva Cassidy recorded. Doug also used to have a radio show and back in 2001, if my memory is correct, he played tracks from my album, King Guitar. I am sure I have a quote from him somewhere.
I think it is only in recent years that he has been coming to Europe. I look forward to seeing a show and hopefully meeting him someday. Everybody speaks highly of him.

Thanks Ian, I love that! I’m trying to go with the one man one guitar vibe, but l kind of feel obliged to vary the sound. I try and use open G all of the time because my Reso is a bit temperamental with different tunings; but, l do use quite a few different keys. Chris

Doug is truly awesome in all aspects, guitarist, singer and songwriter! Been a hero of mine for many years now. Never seen him play live before but we're playing at the same festival in Estonia next weekend so I hope to get a chance to hear him play and perhaps jam some, haha! Looking forward very much!
