So I've got a bone nut that I'm putting on a job for someone, but its very yellow and got glue / black gunk stuck in it. Aside from using elbow grease (can't find any in B&Q ), any thing I can safely use, and anything I can't use? Would it survive the dishwasher? TT

White spirit/Zippo lighter fluid should soften the glue and black gunk. Then squirt a dollop of washing up liquid on it and rub it in with your fingers followed by hot water, scrubbing with a nail brush. Rinse and allow to dry naturally after dabbing off most of the water with a kitchen towel. The yellowing will not disappear coz that's just natural ageing.... UV light and oxygen and all that stuff...
Just a suggestion....
