I think Henry used quills tuned as my diagram. I have made a couple of sets that work okay. (My G set is an octave lower than HTs) They are the major scale with the 4 and 5 removed. This means that you can also play a standard blues minor in E (on the G) and A (on the C). They were made from cheap South America sets, taken apart and the notes I wanted refixed. Some fine tuning will have to be done. Best choose notes that are a little flat, you can file a little off or drop a thick washer in to sharpen the note. PT

Note:Bonzos plan of the quills viewed from above , has only 7 tubes, I think at least 8 are needed! ππππππππ

Great link Phil, I was fairly confident I had the notes right as I had played Bulldoze with John Miller on my set of quills a few years ago. PT

The only other pre-war blues using quills I can think of....beautiful sound.

A different scale to HTs quills. Great playing, hard to do those little sliding notes on my (low tuned)set
