hi michael, just to bring you upto date with progress on the dobro......all stripped down and cleaned using the mer car polish you recommended ,finished it off with mr sheen ...excellent advice, I thank you for that. The spider legs have been adjusted to sit correctly on the cone edge giving me a even contact pressure around the circumference of the cone in the body well. I have a new set of elixier strings 13's to 56'ers to put on, so all I am waiting for now is the new bridge saddles from pete woodman, and he tells me that I should receive them early next week.................can hardly wait , I will then be able to adjust the cone centre screw and .yipee, back in the saddle
regards robbie

hi gerryc , interestingly, one of my silde heros johnny dickinson uses a ozark metal bodied reso at the moment. I listened to him on a live gig recently, the guitar was standard as far as I know ,also I cannot remember exactly the model or the price ( i think it was somewhere in the 400 to 500 quid range )..............it sounded just sublime to me ,he played many things but his instro of the old standard Nat King Cole's Nature boy was one of the most beautiful tones I ever heard anway thats my pennyworth
