OK. I will say this only once! Pour boiling water into a cup. Hold the fingerpick in the jaws of some long nose pliers. Dip the pick into the hot water and squeeze until they are the right size to fit your finger. (This will be a matter of judgment and trial and error). Immediately put the pick into cold water and it will retain its size. Put on finger and play!

Well put Michael, you don't stand up for yourself often enough. Although the original enquiry was innocent enough, if things aren't straightened out then the misinformation becomes accepted knowledge. You mentioned the NRP guitars being well made and properly set up. I'd like to mention that they are also three or four times more expensive than MM guitars. These comments are in no way meant as a put down for anyone researching the resonator market, knowledge will only come after research and enquiring on sites such as this. But in the under a Β£1000 price range, for a variety of single cone instruments all roads lead to MM guitars πΈ! (IMHO)
Best wishes to you all, John

I'm not going on Michael and I agree with you about a band being a carpet and I was also thinking along the lines of Miles and Coltrane et al. I think maybe it's the treatment of this particular song, doesn't sound like there's a lot of emotional engagement going on. Sing a few words and throw in some unrelated guitar pyrotechnics. Nuff sed from me!

I'm with you on this one Snakey. Maybe a new thread is needed on guitarists we just can't get! But that's us I guess!

Hi Tom, welcome to the forum. Wot PD sez is right on the money. Something you haven't taken into account is that you will in fact be owning more than one reso! Start off with the MM then get a 61 after a while. The 61 I have is quite possibly the loudest resonator I have ever heard and like a tin can with strings on, in a good way. Don't forget the Newtone strings (which come on the MM guitar) and of course a nice Diamond bottleneck slide to start your collection π
