Hello - this is my first post, so be gentle! I have been playing guitar for nearly 40 years, but have not moved on for the last 35 or so. Having realised this a little while ago I decided to take lessons again for a bit of discipline and hopefully to move forward. I found this forum and you have already been a great help, even if I haven't posted yet! Anyhow, having started learning alternate bass picking and getting under way, I wondered if you had any suggestions as to appropriate songs/pieces to get started with. I know my way round the fret board in standard tuning, but want to learn slide and finger picking - delta - country blues, rags etc. I thought "You got to move" by Mississippi Fred McDowell might be a good place to start for slide. Also "Come on in my Kitchen" - RObert Johnson. Does anyone have any suggestions about good pieces to start with for an experienced beginner? best wishes
