Sporting Life blues - Brownie McGhee. And I’m having trouble getting Father and Son by Cat Stevens out of my head.

I saw her at Turbury Castle in the very early 90’s. We had a couple of cds of hers already which were great - there was a live one which my kids loved when they were younger. Sorry to see her go

Thanks Michael - yes it has the D on the back. I’ll put some pictures up. The seller has told me that a friend of his looked it over and put some strings on. Electric guitar strings! I’ll string it properly and see how it sounds then.
Best wishes Andrew.

I have just bought a Dobro 33D on eBay. It is brass bodied, and a round neck. It dates from about 1971 and has small f holes.
It arrived today. To my surprise it appears to have no spider, and possibly a wooden biscuit bridge. It has light strings and sounds a bit weedy.
Poking around in the archives on here and on the net, it looks as though some of these guitars cake without a spider and had a biscuit. Perhaps this is one of those - but how can I find out?
I’ve mentioned this to the seller but he said int he advert that this is (or was) his father’s guitar so he may not know too much.
Presumably it could have a spider even if it didn’t have one originally, or should I leave well alone as it is now 50 years old.
Best wishes Andrew.

I recently bought a similar Dobro from the Netherlands on Reverb. That was €800 though there was nearly £200 import duty on top. Prices vary hugely though as always there is a big difference between what people ask and what the actual sale price turns out to be. Hope that helps a little All the best Andrew.

My first “good” electric was a Framus TV. This was a weird looking semi which had two humbuckers, an Ebony fingerboard and sounded great. However it looked like a semi acoustic jazz master and had a fenderesque headstock. It was a big body too - so it was very odd. It was just right though for 1977! So I too have a soft spot for Framus guitars - I really liked the look of the Jan Akerman signature guitar.

So this just popped up in my YouTube feed. Anyone know anything about them? I can’t decide what I think it looks like - a cross between a banjo and a strat?
