Hi there !
OK ! It's not Elmore's own Kay acoustic, but I just bagged one of the exact same model off eBay recently. Been after one for years. Its got the same headstock, everything ! Its a rare 1940's Kay with adjustable truss rod through the heel !
Will need extensive restoration perhaps as the neck fell off when I removed the old rusty strings !!! Sending it down to Celine/Dave for work in their workshop (above the LRC) in London.
Will post some pics when I get a chance.

Hi Snake, Looks a beaut Keep us posted on the restoration project. I'm sure Dave and Celine will make a good job of it. Are you willing to divulge how much you paid for it? All the best, Joe (aka Mairena Red) PS Been down to Benhavis lately?

Hi mate !
Paid £350 for it. It came from Chicago, Illinois !
Am due to be in Benahavis soon. Am going for 1 weeks holiday with my wife at the end of February - sat 25th Feb to the next saturday. Was supposed to play on the saturday night I arrive, but we get in late so might not make that. More likely to play sunday afternoon at one of the bars. My brother will be away after sunday, so will not be in the village after that. Probably will stay in Marbella or close to Puerto Banus.
Perhaps see you around !

That's a lovely looking guitar Richard. I look forward to hearing it when it's restored and fitted with a pickup. At £350 it is a great acoustic guitar and will sound lovely as a regular fingerpicker. Very nice.

Hi Snake, Wow, what a bargain Hope the restoration doesn't cost you an arm and a leg Re you trip to Benahavis, it looks as if I will miss you as I will be down on the coast during the week commencing 12 February. However, if you have transport, why not come over to Seville for a day or so? If you and your wife haven't visited Seville before, you're in for a treat ;D All the best, Joe (aka Mairena Red)
