Hi guys, Is that a real national on ebay at the moment? It's being sold out of Liverpool, I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on the forum. It looks wrong to me and I have a feeling I've seen it before. It's getting bids without any information about age, series numbers etc. Sorry I don't know how to do a link but I'm sure you can find it! Sale finishes in a couple of days, I'd be interested in getting opinions from you all. Best wishes, John

Hi Kevin, how's things. It's on UK eBay item number is 142243588563 and it's listed as a national style O. Lots of Philips x head screws visible and a screwed on badge that looks brand new! See what you think, best wishes, John

It's a "National Resophonic" I believe, not an original old National, therefore a modern reproduction. The old ones are better.

Thanks for the info guys, I was pretty sure it wasn't'vintage'but I thought the national resophonics were clearly marked as such. Borderline misleading? On the other hand anyone about to spend an amount of money would have experience of resonators I imagine! Best wishes to you all, John

The adjustable truss rod gives it away as a modern National Resophonic. I don't like the sanded neck, and it is clear that although the seller is supposedly a guitar dealer he knows little about resonators since he describes it as a "tricone". However, it's currently at £720 with a day and a half to go - there could be a bargain to be had.

Hi guys, I knew I'd seen it somewhere before! Just looking at older listings in gumtree (sad I know!) and there it was, listed as a 2000 national at £1995 so somebody got a deal! Best wishes to you all, John
