Caught Ian Siegal and Jimbo Mathus live at the Spring Arts Centre, Havant last night. Mathis announced early on that they would be (mainly) playing, 'all manner of Southern folk music,' which is what they proceeded to do with considerable flair and enthusiasm (set included 'Pony Blues', 'I'll fly away', 'Long-haired Doney', 'Mary don't you weep,' 'Dirty Old Town' and even 'Purple Rain'...) Went down a storm, too. Their tour promo clip does really do justice to the music, but does give a flavour: Remaining tour dates here": iansiegal.com/2015/ian-siegal-jimbo-mathus-duo-tour I'd recommend catching them (in fact we're going to try to catch them again n a couple of weeks...)
