It is good to see a Tricone Tenor/plectrum being used as it should be...

And look out for the square neck tricone used in a contemporary fashion.

Thanks for sharing those! I've been thinking about playing a tricone in a jazz setting (violin, guitar, clarinet, bass and me). Nothing firm as of yet, but I think the tricone will give a different tone to the overall mix.

Brad there is so much more to the resonator guitar (Tricone through to Dobro) than just blues country or Hawaiian.
Jazz works very well I Oscar Marcelo Alemán is the one to check out.

Not any longer, and it was mostly lap steel in the last few years. I couldn't match the volume or get the tone I wanted against sax, trombone, guitar, bass and two drummers.

There's a difference between contemporary players playing in the older styles (Hawaiian, country, blues, jazz manouche) and contemporary players playing in other styles.

All of the music (Tricone use) is good here it was just some pops up in unexpected situations.

There are Tricones on most of my albums and the albums I have produced for other artists, none of which are usual Tricone territory. Here's three that spring to mind..
(As well as the slide playing, much of the percussion in this track is coming from the Tricone, including the scratchy cabasa sound)
