If you want confirmation, you could remove the coverplate and let everyone have a look at the cones PT

George La Foley made guitars and Ukes in London until he was bombed out in the war.I have had his Ukes Mandolins and slide guitars pass through my hands (I have a catalogue that I sadly cant lay my hands on) all of his instruments that I have seen have sounded very good & all of them have been made with high grade Mahogany. There were NO metal guitars in the catalogue.Dont think its that old but if you like it &it's not too much money "go for it "

Perhaps it has a new headstock veneer facing to disguise the original appearance of the headstock ? A side-on picture of the headstock might help to clear that up.
There are just too many occurrences of people trying to disguise a cheap guitar as something more expensive, on places like ebay - and I hate the idea of someone being conned. Sure, this guy hasn't tried to sell anything, so I can't accuse him of that BUT as I said in my last post :
"The guitar has obviously been "treated" to make it look old - but there is no such suggestion in your original posting - so you either don't know that is the case, or you are trying to deceive. Only you will know which option applies."

If it were me, no matter what the guitar sounded like, if it were misrepresented in any way or mislabelled as this apparently is inside, I think it would color my experience with it and I would not want to own it or play it publicly - there are too many lovers of vintage instruments who know about them and what they look like and what kind of neck they have that it would get any respect as a vintage - I would probably pass on it. YMMV.

Yes the labels the worst thing about all this. That would appear to be a definite and deliberate attempt to mislead. Given all the comments regarding the likely reality of what this guitar is I now have to ask myself if the person who put the guitar my way was responsible for doing that. That hurts but that's my problem to work with...and anyway as I havn't bought the guitar as of yet I always have the option of returning it with a 'no thanks' .
Having said that they're only asking a small price for it and I love the way it sounds so... i could buy it, remove the label and enjoy playing it. all in all not a bad little box for 100 quid is it ?
Thanks for all the comments regarding the info on the guitar and my only regret for starting this post is that maybe some of you thought i was up to no good.

Hi again !
I truly did worry you had been duped with this guitar and your excitement had got the better of you. To many of us on this forum, who are always discussing the merits of modern repros versus vintage Nationals, and all the various types of cheaper reproductions, so we are actually very familiar with many of the cheaper resos. Most (eh, actually 99.9%) of those cheaper resos all have exactly the same body shape. The pressed shape in the back of the body is VERY distinctive - and much different than all the other brands. That is WHY Rik Besser asked to see a photo of the back of the guitar. He got there before anyone else managed to ask that fundamental, tell-tale question. The guitar you showed has EXACTLY the same body shape - and exactly the same back. Thus, it was pretty easy to work out what you were showing us. And, we do see this sort of thing every so often. I am sorry you thought I was being harsh. There , I'm big enough to say it ! GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) can be quite strong sometimes, and one can easily not listen to well meant advice, when you have a bad dose of GAS. My previous words had to be strong enough to jolt your snses enough warn you (if it was needed) and warn anyone else too.
Having said all that, £100 could be worth a punt !! All the best !

If you like the way it sounds and plays, and it's cheap, buy it! If you like resos, you will eventually end up with a more expensive one. This one will be a great way to learn all about them and also one you can beat up and not be too worried about. I'd take the fake badges off and stick your own "mojo" on it. I have a bunch of Nationals and NRPs and I also have an Asian repro that I like very much. Here's what I did to it's headstock....
