UPDATE
seems like a ~very~ hopeful appraisal from the estate @ 3/4+ million dollars.
remember an antiques roadshow (US) where a person who had a D18 Martin 12 string that Jimi used to record one of many "hear my train a-coming" tracks signed and given to a recording engineer, with a photograph of the hand off. IIRC, they said about 12K$, due to his predominate association with the fender stratocaster in his all too short time as a superstar.
would have been more credible to have gotten it appraised by "Gruhn's", or "Elderly Instruments" to me.
still, i can't recall ever seeing even photographs of JH playing a Mosrite.
at the risk of sounding like a hollyweird gossip reporter, i have been told since the first posting that there is a lot more to this story that has not been revealed yet. will depend on whether the lawsuit continues, i suppose.
this particular event does take on the appearance of a complete role reversal from the 34 year long "david and goliath" legal battle the estate pursued when recovering the rights to JH's music.
if still alive, wonder if he would view all of this favorably...

These cases just go on forever and there is always another on the horizon.
I wonder if Gered Mankowitz is being credited and paid for the use of his photo (Jimi smoking - Mason's Yard 1967)
