Luverly job. You'll find the electrics a lot easier to play afterwards. Even my old basses with heavy gauge flat wounds seem easier after a session on the Dobro. I found that I go with heavier strings on my electrics now, 10-46 I think? Still mash /bend them. TT

Heh Twistedbiscuit, That sure is a nice looking guitar you got there! A belated happy birthday. Fingers crossed the claim from seller comes through. The picking/slide compromise action on my MMB is 3.5mm low e, 3mm high e, (approx). Enjoy! Orbital.

Yup my action is way too high, I've read recommendations online for compromise action around the same as you have or even a little lower.

Check with others more experienced than me,but depending if you're going to capo to play in open e/a, you might not want to go much lower than 3.5mm (low e), 3mm (high e) when you get set up. Orbital.

Yes thanks for that, I'll be sure to take advice on that. Speaking of which Michael Messer was a huge help in getting this guitar sorted out so a big thanks to you Michael!

Hi Twistedbiscuit, Was wondering how you're getting on with your MMB. Did you get it set up? Any news on the seller's claim to UPS? Hope you're being regularly amazed by your new to you 'resophonic' instrument. Regards, Orbital.

Hi Orbital, sorry I missed your post! Loving the MM Blues, learning some early country blues and experimenting with bottleneck - just simple stuff to start with, Little Red Rooster, CC Rider. Just love the sound, makes even my ham fisted playing sound authentic - well kind of anyway!
I did finally get some money for the damage, not much but enough to pay for a set up - haven't got round to getting it sorted yet though. I have found someone in the next county who has some experience with resonators so I may give him a try next time I'm down that way!

Hi Twistedbiscuit, Good to hear on your progress. I have now had my MMB 4months and am loving this amazing journey I'm on. Glad to hear you got some kind of compensation for the experience you went through! Would recommend the MM Slide Instructional Dvd if you can get a copy...my slide technique has definitely improved since getting mine. Best... Orbital.
