As if I have not got enough stuff on the go , I thought I`d try my hand at a Glenwood. It`s not going to be an exact copy (wood rather than fiberglass to start with) but I would like the edge angles to be similar. So I would love it if any Glenwood owners (who also have a ruler ) could give me some idea of sizes. Thanks in advance Pete T If any of you live close to Cambridge I`d love to see it in the flesh

I sold my Glenwood a few years ago, otherwise you would be more than welcome to its measurements. I know that wasn't much help, but at least I responded ? Shine On Michael

Thanks Michael, I have in fact started to `rough out` the body. The only sizes I can find for the side `rubber bumper` are 12.5mm 16mm and 19mm . I think I`ll get the 16mm if no body gets back to me..... Maybe I`ll be the only one on the forum with a guitar that look a bit like a Glenwood? PT

Can you see what it is yet? OK, so that's the body done. I`m still stuck on the `bumper strip` around the sides (have found some, but £30 minimum order,) Anyone work for a plastics company ? PT Pick-up adjustment is also a problem . I think (someone may know) you had to remove the back on a Glenwood, but I don`t want to do that....

The bridge pick-up (the one built into the bridge) is often called a piezo (pietzo?) On one site it is said to be a magnetic. Any know how it worked, or what it was?? PT

Pete,
are the tops on these thin enough to allow much acoustic movement?
if not, seems like huge windings would be needed to create very much voltage.
[need more first hand info from MM about bridge PUP volume]
or, on board battery powered pre-amp?

I found a guitar site where they showed you the sound of the built-in pick-up, it was thin and very quiet. The idea was (I think ) to mix this tone with the bass pick-up to give a `better` tone. The Reso-glas body is (I would think) more `vibrant` than solid wood, but the idea would work best if the coils were fixed to the back, rather than the top. Maybe the bridge saddle could be longer, so it vibrates a little? though this will give a more `woody` tone and remove some sustain, which is not what I want, might re-visit the idea sometime , but I think a piezo would be the easy way forward. Almost there, a few minor changes (the `B` bender got in the way, so may have to find an arm for the trem to make it look right) PT
