I came across this by chance whilst looking for info about Collins guitars which are sold in Germany and made by Frantisek Furch. This popped up as the 1st hit on youtube.
Michael playing wonderfully on a £2-3,000 Collings guitar. It has a great tone, and it is very melodic. It doesn't sound "dirty" at all, but is a lovely piece. Green with envy at the wonderful technique and guitar.

Michael is a master musician-I think he may make a cardboard box strung with elastical bands sound wonderful .But I agree beautiful sounding Collings.

Thanks, eggy, for setting up a place for me to post this... I just in the past few weeks discovered MM's music via this website. He truly is more than a master musician, but also a musical innovator and rehabilitator of the musical genre that in my mind was going a bit lame the past few decades. He belongs on the "A" list.

I could not agree more with the above comments!
The above being one example, as some members may know, I have been receiving instruction from Michael for the past year when he has had the time, and it never fails to amaze me how accurate he is with regard to rhythms and the right notes on the early slide blues he's shown me and he's shown on a wide a variety of artists such as Fred Mcdowell, Son House, Robert Wilkins, Bobby Grant, Blind Willie Johnson, Muddy Waters, Rambling Thomas, Charley Patton and Furry Lewis, which I think is just a very small amount of what he actually knows in this genre - and he knows from other genres as well. Plus electric and lap slide...not to mention his own compositions...

Thank you all for such amazing compliments! You are very kind.
I don't think of myself as a master musician. I still feel the same as that twenty year old MM that was obsessed with trying to play like the musicians he admired so much. I am still trying, still learning, and still excited by it.
The Collings was a lovely guitar. I tuned it to open A because it had light strings, and it sounded amazing. I have played a few Collings guitars that didn't really do much for me, but that one was exceptional. I like the whole thing, the design, the feel, the sound.....very nice indeed!
