looking for a spider bridge resonator, coverplate with detachable palmrest. resophonic outfitters USA, have just the thing.
I need to adjust the bridge saddles, last time I did this I had to take strings, coverplate, screws, off several times.
playing for a day or two followed by dismanteling for tiny adjustments, is a real pain.
a detachable palmrest would make this a lot less traumatic. but I live in the UK, any one know where I could get one a bit nearer home .

What about making one?? PT not worth the trouble. buying the steel sheet, cutting out, pressing the shape, followed by triple plating ( never very satisfactory on steel.
or doing the same with brass sheet.
or modifying my existing steel coverplate , the plating would have to be removed in the area where the TIG welding of the necessary small extensions, for the palmrest mounting set screws.
the available ones at resophonic outfitters, are listed as imports, at 75 dollars. you could not build the quality or price in your home worshop.
its just that I would like to find a supplier of reso spares nearer to home.
the problem with the UK, is a lot of retailers will sell you a resonator guitar, but have no facilities or knowledge of setting up for individual playing style, strings, ( Michael Messer strings obviously).
or action. and should you need a replacement cone of excellent quality, due to an unforeseen accident at some time in the future, then its tough luck.

I`m too mean to buy anything I can`t make (though I have tried making several things that were no good... the wooden bike springs to mind) PT Heres one I made from scratch (but I got someone else to do the cutting and pressing) The handrest ended up bolted on (I also find de-stringing to adjust the bridge a pain) Changing a `standard` Dobro style c/p might not be too much work. The handrest could be cut off and a new strip of brass with rounded ends could then be bolted over the hole. Nuts could be soldered to the underside of the c/p A cheap c/p should be £20-30 ,the brass a few pence and £10(?) for the plating
