According to p105 of 'Palm Trees, Senoritas and Rocket Ships', its a circa 1931 Dobro model 50 tenor guitar. $50 when new. TT

Bonjour Olivier,
Welcome to our forum.
You have a beautiful tenor guitar there!
I am not sure what that 'dampening (?)' device is on the strings between the bridge and tailpiece, but I would take it off as it is not necessary.

Olivier, I think it's worth a bit more than $50 now...

Hi Olivier,
Okay....it's a capo! I understand. I would not keep it there as it is dampening the strings and killing the resonance. Even used as a capo, it is not the correct type of capo for your instrument. Get a Shubb four string capo.
That is a rare tenor guitar and while it is not worth a fortune, it is very collectable. I do not do valuations on this forum, but your estimate is about right.
It looks like it has nylon strings on it? .....you should definitely not use those strings, they are for ukuleles. You need a set of proper tenor guitar strings. Something like a medium gauge.

A Model 50 tenor guitar would have no binding, as it was the tenor version of the Model 55 6 string guitar. Even though this has a decal instead of the inlaid Dobro logo--the walnut, style of binding, and the engraved cover plate makes this a Model 100 tenor guitar--the tenor version of the Model 106. Thus it would have had a $100 price tag when new.
