first a brief intro: i'm from scotland, living in switzerland ( near fribourg) for more than 35 years. don't have a resonator guitar at all! i found this left handed AMISTAR and a leftie friend is interested but the seller doesn't seem to know much about it, he told me it's 12 years old and cost 1000 swiss francs. my last question about whether it had a paper label inside remains unanswered and the auction expired with no bids. under the circumstances of the recent passing of franta i don't really want to go mailing the company with my questions right now. any advice and suggestions welcome if anyone has any ideas. ta much ,merci, danke ciao. www.ricardo.ch/kaufen/musik-und-musikinstrumente/gitarren-und-zubehoer/gitarren/akustische-gitarren/amistar-resonator-gitarre-lefthand/v/an755623640/

well, does it seem to be real for a start? maybe you can tell me what model it is, when it was made and what it cost then.
and if it's worth buying now for about €400.
german is ok if that's easier for you............
(edit: forget the german, i understand brumm as well!)

so where'd ya get that pic then? i didn't find the amistar website extremely easy to navigate as far as searching for older models goes. you're welcome to try buying it, first you need to register with that auction site which includes a snailmail confirmation and then you talk to the seller in swiss german................ i've contacted the seller thru' one of his other ads and asked for a number to call. i may or may not ever get an answer. ps, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi Dave, Laurie here, I had an Amistar tricone some years back from about the same era. This looks legit for a style O from that time. Confirmation of a paper label would nail it.
On the Thomann website new singles seem to be about 2000 so 400 seems pretty reasonable.

Ta - mine have got cast off eko necks, I build the rest (metalwork aside). Getting the hang of it! As for amistar cones, some people are lukewarm about them, but I think they have a great tone - rather like the clunky 10'5 OMI biscuit cones. TT

Hi opotable,
Only the admin department at MM HQ can change the background colour. Is it a problem?
